I was attracted to the geospatial/GIS field was because of the versatility of applications the technology could perform, akin to a swiss knife. In my previous post, I had highlighted, using video caselets, 10+ Business Needs that GIS helps fulfill. The motto of my firm - Versatile Product. Valuable Applications - stems from this very characteristic of modern-day Mapping Technology.
In this post, I aim to highlight using video caselets again, how 10+ Business Sectors/Industries are benefiting from deploying Location Intelligence via GIS in their systems and operations. While the real-world applications for each sector are limitless, the objective here is to emphasize the wide-ranging capabilities of geospatial platforms. GIS is deployed for new workflows on a regular basis - you'll be surprised to know that one of the reasons why Esri, my GIS vendor hosts annual conferences across the world is because they themselves are unaware and wish to know how their software is being utilized by the customers - this would enable them to invest in R&D and develop specialized modules to add to their powerful and market-leading software suite.
The concepts are borrowed from, and explained in more detail on Esri's website. Section headings are hyperlinked and will redirect you to related content. The Industries are sorted in Alphabetical order.
